Due to their highly perishable nature, WE DO NOT SHIP our strawberries or other fresh fruits. Any orders placed online must be picked up locally at either our Schenectady or Latham location. Please note that we recommend that all fruit orders be consumed within 24 - 36 hours (max) of the time they are scheduled to be picked up.

12/23-24/2021”We know Uncle Sam's Candy make the Holiday special, and we would hope you put us in your plans early enough for us to make that possible. Please allow an additional 3 business days for order processing during the holidays. We recommend that holiday orders are placed early to guarantee a specific ship period. We all know when Christmas is, and the date never changes from year to year, unlike Easter! Please plan ahead if guaranteed Christmas arrival is of tremendous importance. We receive dozens of Christmas order each year after December 18th with the customers begging us to have it to the recipient by Christmas Eve. However, no matter how fast we get the order out, with ground service- we cannot guarantee delivery by that certain date, especially when you consider the volume and calendar! Although we want you to be exceptionally happy with our product and service- the old business adage that poor planning on one's part does not constitute a crisis on the others part- holds true. Often we make your crisis our crisis- and do all we can to make it happen. But remember that when it leaves our hands, we can't control the carrier and their schedule.
Ice pack option:
To ensure your order arrives in top condition, we recommend the $5.00 ice pack option if you are shipping your order to a warmer climate, no matter what time of year. Uncle Sam's reserves the right to require additional cold packs dependent on weather or shipping location. If no cold pack is used, we cannot guarantee the quality of any of our products upon arrival.

HOW YOUR ORDERS ARE SHIPPED
Your package will be shipped either through the United States Postal Service (USPS) via Priority Mail or UPS or Fedex Ground Shipping. Orders generally ship within 2-10 business days of being placed. Some items need to be hand-made fresh for your order depending on our stock so it may be longer. Please select an expedited method if time is of the essence or phone us to discuss. We generally are not a speed operation. We make things to order and are occasionally backed up and need more time to get your order out. We cannot guarantee that you order gets shipped in an special number of hours or days, but we need a reasonable time to make, package and ship your candy.
SHIPPING TIMES USPS (Post Office Priority Mail and UPS Ground)
Although Priority Mail states that it offers 2-3 day delivery it is not guaranteed and the post office says that it can take upwards of 15 days to deliver an item. At rare times, we reserve the right to use UPS or FedexGround (usually 1-6 business days) if we believe that the service will be faster to your location. Please consider this possibility when choosing your shipping during checkout. Deliveries may be sent to P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses. We ship to all fifty states and Puerto Rico. Shipping options include UPS Ground Standard Shipping, Second Day Air and Next Day Air. We also offer USPS Express Mail Flat Rate Packaging on many items. Please remember that UPS does not deliver on ground service on the weekends or holidays. The only time that UPS (United Parcel Service) delivers on the weekend is their expedited air services (next day and 2nd day air Saturday delivery).
SHIPPING FRESH STRAWBERRIES
We currently do not ship fresh fruit. They are available for in-store pickup ONLY.
HOT-WEATHER SHIPPING: MAY 1 -OCTOBER 31
High Quality Chocolate begins melting in the low 80 F degree range! When the weather is hot outside, added time is needed to prepare and ship orders, and not all delivery options are available. Please note, orders received Wednesday-Friday usually ship the following Monday during this time unless overnight options are chosen, so that the package does not sit in a truck over the weekend. Good planning on the customer's part is essential. Local weather in the zip code your order is shipped to also determines shipping options. For instance, the weather may be very hot in Phoenix, AZ. in January so an expedited shipping option is needed to guarantee against the chocolate being ruined by the heat. During that time, we take extra care to make sure your orders arrive in good condition. Candy is carefully packed with iced gel packs to help keep your candy fresh.
There is a $5.00 up-charge for shipping during that time which covers reusable ice packs and up-sized weight option that are needed for your package to arrive properly. For larger orders, several ice packs are needed and we will add $2.00 per ice pack after the first. We are not in the ice pack business and are not seeking to sell you ice packs you won't need, however we do care that you are happy with the chocolate you buy from us and want to make certain that it arrives safe!
If you do not wish to pay for a few ice packs and you live in a hot climate then please reconsider your order. We will only ship during the business week and as long as it will arrive during the business week. We reserve the right to not ship orders during warm months that will be sitting in a delivery warehouse or vehicle over the weekend. It does not benefit you to have melted candy, so extra care is needed in planning shipments.
DELIVERY TO CANADA
Due to processing time with customs we are no longer able to ship to Canada. We are sorry for the inconvenience but many packages have been damaged or lost over the last year.
P.O. BOXES & APO/FPO ADDRESSES
We do ship candy and chocolate to valid P.O. Boxes AND to APO/FPO boxes. We cannot ship strawberries, or Candy/Caramel Apples to APO/FPO boxes because of the time they take to arrive. We are not responsible for loss or theft of packages to APO/FPO boxes under any circumstances. P.O. Boxes require Postal (USPS) shipping, as UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. Free freight offer does not apply to P.O. Boxes (see above detail on free shipping.)
SHIPPING YOUR PRODUCT AS A GIFT TO SOMEONE
Double and triple check your recipient or loved one's address. Then check it again! Please try to choose a shipping address where someone will be home to receive their items. This can take place at home, work, or a neighbor’s house. We always recommend shipping to a BUSINESS ADDRESS if you know that the recipient is never home during the day. Of course that is not always possible, but it usually guarantees someone is there to bring it in from the indoors and it won't be sitting on a porch for hours. UPS and USPS will leave residential packages at the door unless a signature is required. We can not be held responsible for unclaimed packages due to incorrect addresses, apartment complex offices holding them, or packages that were left outside on a stoop or porch. We all like to surprise people but- often when sending a gift- it is wise to let the recipient know it is coming so they may look out for it. Occasionally we hear about packages left on the stoop of the front door that the recipient never uses, only to be destroyed by weather or pests in the outdoors as they sit for days on end. Don't let this happen to your shipment!
